Wounded soldiers do not receive proper treatment: how Defense Ministry officials ignore the lives of Ukraine’s defenders

The war continues, and as the situation at the front deteriorates, the number of seriously wounded is only increasing due to fpv attacks by drones and massive shelling. But the quality of treatment is not improving, but only deteriorating. This is especially true for the treatment of the wounded in civilian hospitals (institutions of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine), where there is a constant shortage of medicines and medical supplies for the treatment and rehabilitation of wounded and sick soldiers. There are a lot of requests for help with medicines on social media from relatives of soldiers (see examples in the comments). Unfortunately, not all such requests are closed in time.

You can imagine the consequences for the military – treatment and rehabilitation at their own expense. It seems that those responsible for the quality of treatment of servicemen in the Ministry of Defense, officials of the Department of Health of the Ministry of Defense, including its head Oksana Sukhorukova, are not very concerned about this.

That is, for a whole year of the existence of the DoH as part of the Ministry of Defense under Sukhorukova’s leadership, the issue of proper quality of treatment for servicemen has not been resolved.

It is strange, because at one time (21-22 years old) Sukhorukova was the director of the monitoring department of the NHSU (National Health Service of Ukraine), which is now the responsible organization for the quality of treatment in the institutions of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. She would have had to establish cooperation with the NHSU and the Ministry of Health in the first place and ensure decent and high-quality treatment for the wounded.

I wonder what Sukhorukova has been doing all this time and who lobbied for her appointment to a high “medical” position without a medical degree?

Since the beginning of 2024, Sukhorukova and her team at the DoZ, in violation of current legislation and despite the objections of military medics, have been pushing through an order that allows the transfer of narcotic drugs to combat medics (who are not medics by training!) without proper qualifications and control: dimedrol, sibazon, and even fentanyl and ketamine! These are not just drugs, they are a potential disaster – from drug addiction among the military to possible sales of these drugs on the black market.

And what about Kazmirchuk, the commander of the medical forces, can he effectively protect the health of the soldiers under the pressure of these female lobbyists? Or has he become a sycophant and no longer decides anything? And why does Commander-in-Chief Syrsky allow the Armed Forces to be humiliated like this?

Could it be because Sukhorukova is in charge of everything and lobbies for the interests of drug trafficking in the army, and that is why the priority issue of quality treatment of servicemen still remains open?

It has also been established that officials of the Department of Health of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in collusion with representatives of controlled charitable foundations and some health care institutions in Kyiv, are misappropriating the funds entrusted to them.

This is realized through the conclusion of fictitious contracts with charitable organizations and other private sector entities, especially when providing medical and psychological rehabilitation services, ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of military personnel in the Armed Forces.

In the meantime, we urge you to report any information you know about the poor quality of medical care, lack of proper rehabilitation and ineffective treatment of servicemen in both hospitals and civilian hospitals. We guarantee complete anonymity and confidentiality.
