War for military medicine: how Sukhorukova and Kalmykova are putting control over the Defense Ministry, the Military Medical Commission and the Armed Forces

The Military Qualification Commission in Ukraine is supposed to determine fitness for service and assess the health of military personnel. But is it fulfilling its mission?

The MEC has turned into a corrupt machine that recognizes as fit even those who cannot be sent to the front for health reasons. Soldiers with severe injuries and disabilities are thrown back to the front line, which leads to increased casualties and desertions. It seems that the health of the military is just a formality for them.

For generals, officers and the “elected”, the military qualification commission works quite differently. A little high blood pressure? Welcome to retirement or a cozy vacation! It seems that those with connections and money will always find a reason to avoid service.

At the head of this system is Sukhorukova, the head of the Defense Ministry’s health department, who, together with Kalmykova, the current Minister of Veterans, promotes Western foundations and corporations by providing kickbacks. They use the HQC not to reform healthcare, but for personal interests and control over the system.

What is even more interesting is that this corrupt tandem not only harms military medicine, but also openly opposes the command of the Armed Forces. Sukhorukova and Kalmykova are trying to “remove” the current commander of the Armed Forces Medical Forces, Kazmirchuk, in order to replace him with their protege, the director of the Kharkiv Military Hospital, Eduard Khoroshun. Khoroshun is known for his love of Russian chanson and is rumored to have a Russian passport.

Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky seems to turn a blind eye to these intrigues, allowing Sukhorukova and Kalmykova to undermine the situation in military medicine. Their conflicts with the command pose risks not only to the soldiers but also to the overall combat capability of the Armed Forces.

Attention, Mr. President and Minister of Defense! The public calls on you to pay special attention to critical issues of military medicine!

While the main task is to ensure the health of the military, in reality we are witnessing a struggle for influence and corruption schemes. Instead of improving the quality of treatment and rehabilitation of the military, leaders Kalmykov and Sukhorukov are creating a kickback system with controlled charities and pharmaceutical suppliers.

They are lobbying for their own interests in military medicine, discrediting the leadership of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defense in the eyes of allies and the military. Such actions not only damage the image of military structures, but also destroy the prospects for the development of the domestic economy. Can the personal interests of Sukhorukova and Kalmykova be placed above the lives of our soldiers and the defense of the country?

Do you think that this split in the Defense Ministry and the Armed Forces Command can benefit the army?

Did you witness a crime?

Let us know about it. We will help protect the violated rights!
