FED from Kharkiv trades with Russia and supplies spare parts for the Russian army

Kharkiv business structures continue to work for the enemy and even supply the Russian army, despite the constant shelling of the region and the brutal aggression of the Russians.

This time, we are talking about the Private Joint Stock Company “FED”, which specializes in the production of air and space aircraft and related equipment. In other words, it is engaged in the serial production, repair and modernization of aircraft components. 

The private company was established next to the state-owned plant of the same name. For a long time, both companies were headed by Oleksandr Zhdanov, a deputy of the Kharkiv Regional Council of many convocations, a man who can be safely classified as a “red director.”

Currently, FED is headed by Viktor Popov, who also has a deputy background, as he was a member of the regional council of many convocations. He also represented the Party of Regions. 

For a long time, FED has been very fruitfully cooperating with Russian companies. The cooperation officially ended only after their partners were sanctioned in Ukraine. After the Russian market shrank, FED found partners in China. Therefore, now the company’s main partner is a Chinese state corporation, which not only tolerates the Russian aggressor, but also supplies it with equipment for combat aircraft.

Briefly about FED

Until 2007, one-third of the shares in FED Private Joint Stock Company belonged to the Russian aviation corporation Rubin. Its place among the shareholders was taken by the Russian company Avia FED Service, which had previously owned only 3.9% of FED’s shares.

The Russian Avia FED Service held a 37.6% stake until 2011, and then the percentage of shares held by this company decreased.

The Russians (through the company and individuals) partially owned shares in FED Private Joint Stock Company until the first quarter of 2014, i.e. before the Revolution of Dignity.

How FED supplies spare parts for the Russian army

Cooperation between FED and the Chinese AVIC International Holding began before the full-scale invasion and continues to this day. All this despite numerous investigations into AVIC’s communication with racists.

According to the media, during 2023-2024, FED supplied AVIC with engines. Then, having received the goods from the Ukrainian manufacturer, the Chinese structure sold them to Russian firms. 

Thus, the Kharkiv company sponsors terrorism and initiates shelling of the civilian population of Kharkiv region.

In fact, there are reasonable grounds to believe that cooperation with Chinese entities is just a forced step to circumvent sanctions. However, businesses often do not shy away from directly supplying components and other goods to Russia in a shadowy way. 

Interestingly, we have already written about the mechanism of FED’s connections with Russia to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, the Security Service of Ukraine, and a number of other law enforcement agencies, and attached supporting materials, including the documentation we found. But again, we received no response. So, neither the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, nor the Security Service of Ukraine, nor their colleagues are interested in terminating cooperation with Russia? We have many questions.
